Bryan and Brittany Jackson - owners of brunch restaurant Starving Artist - we own 3 corporate stores and franchised the business four years ago. Additionally there are 4 franchise locations that are independently owned.

Our sales at all locations have plummeted. We’re bleeding money at this point. 
We have a strong brand, we’ve been in business for over 10 years. We’ve put our blood sweat and tears into going from a single store to a franchised 7-location brunch destination across the GTA. We would be absolutely devastated if we lost a business we were planning on running forever to something that is not in our control. Our story is so similar to THOUSANDS across not only the GTA but across the country. We’re pleading with the government to please put rent deferral action in place for commercial properties. Give us a fighting chance. How can we be expected to pay astronomical rent prices with no business coming through the door?
